CHANGE'S to HBA MATCH RULES.

Club delegates have voted to change the start time for both Saturday and Mid Week matches to 1.00 pm. from the old 1.30 pm start with roll up's now due to start at 12.30pm. The new start time will be applicable for all matches played from next Saturday 21st October and next week Wednesday 25th October. Matches scheduled for Wednesday 18th will begin at the old time of 1.30pm. as there has not been sufficient time to inform all players. Club delegates also have voted to play 21 ends in the Saturday competition, leaving the Saturday division 1 competition to stand alone with 25 ends. In ex...

PATRONS DAY 2017

LADIES PATRONS DAY AT MT PLEASANT. The opening of the Thursday Ladies Pennant Bowling Season kicked off to a great start, hosted by last year's winners Mt Pleasant Bowling Club. There were from the Hills Clubs - Lobethal, Gumeracha, Meadows Uraidla, Mount Pleasant, Woodside and two teams from Mount Barker.

Results of the Player Questionnaire.

A questionnaire had been emailed to all Hills bowlers listed with an email address on the Hills web Site. The results have been calculated and are now available under the heading of "Club Tournaments" on the home page. The Hills have 512 registered bowlers, with a little over 300 with email addresses. We managed to receive 167 returns. The Hills Executive thank each of you for your response, we were quite happy with that amount of returns. Some of the main answers are listed on the next page.

2017 Annual General Meeting

The Hills Annual General Meeting was held at Lobethal on Monday 15th May 2017. At that meeting there was one change to the Executive committee with Bill Mayes stepping down and Beth Young replacing him as a committee person. Graham Weyland remains the President with all other positions the same as last season.

GRAND FINALS DECIDED

Mt Barker finished third on the pennant table, but they have managed to defeated minor premier Woodside in Saturday's Div 1 Final. The Div 2 minor premier defeated Mt Barker in the Div 2 Final. In the Div 3 competition Lobethal No 2 defeated Lobethal No 1 side. With the ladies Mt Barker third defeated second placed Lobethal. In the Mid Week Div 1 competition Lobethal second defeated the minor premier Mt Barker. With Div 2 the minor premier Gumeracha defeated second placed Mt Pleasant after loosing the second semi final.

LOBETHAL WINS HILLS TRIPLES.

Lobethal held off a determined Woodside team to win the Hills Champion of Champion's Open Triples for the 2016 / 2017 season. The tournament sponsored by Warren Murdoch, had to be transferred from Uraidla to Mt Barker under the dome, due to an expected heavy down pour of rain making for a very wet weekend.

Championship Pairs winners 2016 / 2107

The finals of the Hills Bowling Association Champion of Champion Pairs for both the Men's and Women's competitions were played at Mt Pleasant on Friday evening 3rd February 2017. Following the elimination rounds and Semi Finals, Oakbank and Uraidla played off for the men's championship and Hahndorf and Mt Pleasant played off for the women's championship.

Following the elimination rounds, Oakbank and Uraidla played off for the Men's champion of champion's final.The Oakbank pair of Arthur Scott and David Moate got away to a good start against their Uraidla opponents and finished up winning 19 shots to 10 shots. Champ of Champ Triples

The Champ of Champ Triples has been transferred to Mt Barker this Sunday, the championship was due to be played at Uraidla, but with the impending rain forecast, playing under the Dome is a good idea. The Final of the Pairs will still go ahead at Mt Pleasant as scheduled for this Friday 3rd February 2017. Good luck to all bowlers.

The Harrison Shield was played at Mt Barker Bowling Club on Sunday 13th November, with three Clubs being undefeated at the end of the days play. Hahndorf won the tournament on a count back from Lobethal in 2nd place with Oakbank placed third.
