GRAND FINALS VENUES
Congratulations to all players and clubs who will be taking part in this week’s Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday grand finals.
The finals series has been a huge success so far, and many thanks to the clubs who have all done an excellent job of hosting the semi finals and preliminary finals over the past two weeks.
In determining the venues for the grand finals the HBA Executive Committee take into account a number of a factors – including the overall suitability of the venues – which must be neutral, and of a suitable standard for finals. We try to avoid making clubs host events in circumstances where the members will wish to be elsewhere watching their teams compete – and we have regard to the number of events and finals already hosted by some clubs.
Accordingly, the venues for this week’s finals is as follows:
- Wednesday Division I – Lobethal vs Mt. Barker at Hahndorf.
- Wednesday Division II – Lobethal vs Uraidla #1 at Hahndorf.
- Thursday Ladies – Woodside Whistles vs Lobethal Green at Uraidla.
- Saturday Division I – Hahndorf vs Woodside at Gumeracha.
- Saturday Division II – Lobethal vs Uraidla #1 at Mt. Barker.
- Saturday Division III Gold – Lobethal #1 vs Woodside #1 at Gumeracha.
- Saturday Division III Silver – Lobethal #3 vs Meadows at Mt. Barker.
Members of the Executive Committee will be present to officiate at each venue and conduct presentations – however each host club must supply a competent umpire, and otherwise be responsible for management of the green and facility.
The weather looks like it will be fantastic all week, and this should encourage spectators to come out and support the players and enjoy the hospitality of the host clubs. However, spectators are encouraged wherever possible to bring a portable/deck chair so as not to overcrowd the seating required for players during the matches.
Starting times as are as usual, there will be a break mid way through each match as per normal pennants, and there will be no high tea following completion of the events.
Good luck to everyone.
