PRESIDENT’S CUP

Dear Members,

An exciting new multi format tournament will he held this season, to showcase our Association’s top bowlers.

The President’s Cup has been devised by HBA President Tony Mik.  Eight teams of six players will compete over four Friday nights in a triples/pairs/singles format – with substantial promotion and prizemoney on offer.

The competition will be divided into two halves – with the four teams in each half playing one another for a spot in the final. The winners in each half will play off for the grand final, and the runners up in each half will play for third spot.

Eight elite bowlers from within our ranks have been hand selected to play and manage each side – and nominations are now called for to make up the additional 40 players required.  Final teams will be selected from the pool of nominations, in a draft format similar to Super League.  Successful nominees will pay a $30 entry fee, and be allocated a spot within one of the eight sides.

It is envisaged that the three minor round matches will be played on 19th November, 26th November, and 3rd December – with the finals played on 10th December.

The event is “open gender” and open to all fully registered members of the Hills Bowling Association.

Player nominations are invited prior to 23rd October 2021.

Expressions of interest are also invited for clubs interested in hosting the events – two venues will be required for each of the three minor rounds, and one venue for the finals night.  We anticipate a similar set up to the Association Championship events, with bar facilities, food, and music.  Please contact me on terrystephen@bigpond.com if your club is interested in hosting.
