PRESIDENT’S CUP 2023

After the huge success last season of the President’s Cup, the event is set to return in November and December 2023.

The structure of the event will remain the same – with selected captains leading four sides over four nights in a multi format competition.  Last year’s sides consisted of five players, comprising teams of triples and pairs.  If the number of entries is sufficient, two more sides can be accommodated.

Entry is open to all HBA members – and it is hoped that each club will nominate at least four players to be considered for selection – at least two of whom should be senior/experienced players, and at least two new or up and coming players.

At this stage it is anticipated that rounds will occur as follows:

• Round 1 on Friday 17th November 2023 at Meadows.
• Round 2 on Friday 24th November 2023 at Mt. Barker.
• Round 3 on Friday 1st December 2023 at Oakbank, and
• Round 4 Finals on Friday 8th December 2023 at Uraidla.

All entries are to be submitted via the online link – no fees are payable in the first instance – and entries will close at midnight on Friday 10th November 2023.

Once entries have closed, the HBA President will select the four side captains, who will then take part in a draft to select their players/sides – with some conditions imposed to ensure that newer bowlers are given an equitable chance of playing.  The entry fee of $40 per player will then be payable prior to the first match.
