TREASURER’S REPORT 2021-2022 (ADRIAN POBKE OAM)

My financial report for the 2021-2022 year is attached.

This may be my final Treasurer’s Report after six years in the position.  I have enjoyed my time immensely, although I have had some nasty comments made by some Club Members.

When I first took over the position, the bank balance was only $6,698.81.  Now, at end of the 2021-2022 season, the Association has $ 10,383.32, (after having a loss of $1,991.92 for the current Season).

Quite a large part of this loss resulted from the transfer of the Mount Pleasant  Club to the Barossa & Light Bowling Association – resulting in a reduction of revenue for players and team fees of about $1,105.00 from the previous year.

The honorarium for the Secretary was also increased by $1,000.00 due to the extra work load involved in setting up and maintaining programming through Bowlslink.

Most of the other income and expenses for the season were cost neutral

A new event, the President’s Cup was a success, but it added more work for the Treasurer.  Cash funds were required for prize money for that tournament, along with all Champ of Champ events, and the Harrison Shield – meaning many trips to the bank to withdraw money.

With the ANZ Bank closing their branch at Stirling, this meant seven trips to the ANZ Bank at Mount Barker to withdraw cash.

However all clubs are now using EFT to pay Association accounts and  the Association tries  to use EFT to pay most Accounts – meaning less manual handling of money and cheques.
