TREASURER’S REPORT 2022-2023

HBA End of year financial report 2022-2023

This will be my final season as Association Treasurer after eight seasons in the position.

This is due to my health problem in that my Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia has returned.  I would greatly appreciate if a Club Member would show interest in the position during the coming season. I would show the person what is needed to take over the position in the coming season.

At the end of this Season the Association has only $9,257.20 in the bank, after having a loss of $1,216.62 for the current Season.

The Executive Committee has recommended an increase of $5.00 in the Player’s Registration Fee to $20.00, to cover a 10% increase in Honorarium and Recorder Payments, and to cover the increased cost in meals paid by the Hills Association for Players who represent the Hills in shield matches against other Association’s.  The cost of Pennant Flags for grand final winners has also increased this season and finally to cover the loss for this season.

The President’s Cup was a success again, but with reduced number of players. Many players were not told by their Club’s that the Cup was on again.

With many trips made to ANZ Bank at Mount Barker to withdraw Cash to pay out prize money, we may need to look at changing the bank –  Bank SA, for example, has more branches in the Hills.   All Clubs use EFT to pay Association Accounts now except one Club who still use Cheques to pay Association Accounts.

I still enjoy my time as Association Treasurer and the help from the Association Secretary Terry.
