LORNA ROWLEY SHIELD 2022

Whilst South Australia has served up some terrible weather in recent weeks, the ladies were treated to glorious conditions when they descended on the Strathalbyn Bowling Club for the annual Lorna Rowley Shield.

Played at Strathalbyn on 8th November 2022, 19 of the HBA ladies were selected in the side of 48 players to represent Region 6 in the battle against Region 7.

Region 6 only managed to pick up four wins in the first round of 12 matches, with Lobethal’s Chris Jarman skippering her rink to a 14 all draw.  This left region leading comfortably 15 pts to 9 pts heading into the post lunch round.  Despite some close battles, Region 7 secured wins in 7 of the 12 matches – to run out overall victors 29 pts to 19 pts.
